Indis Shiraz Viognier 2005
This shiraz viognier draws on the strengths of the two grape varieties with the viognier contributing a lovely perfume which combines with the best characteristics of the shiraz, the spiciness, tannins and length.
The wine is a deep red cherry in colour with lovely cherry and violet aromas and some spice notes. The palate is dense with rich berry flavours and with a lovely series of fine tannins and great length.
It’s from a 5 Star James Halliday rated winery in Western Australia, Forest Hill Vineyards.
The price is $8.25 a bottle. This is great value for money.You’d expect to pay $18 a bottle so it’s well under half price. The quality is excellent and the wine is discounted due to surplus left over from an export order to the UK.
Delicious and a bargain.
