Blue Pyrenees Winemakers

Blue Pyrenees was established in 1963 by Remy Martin who explored the possibilities of premium, sparkling wines in the cool, climate Pyrenees wine district in Western Victoria. Remy Martin then went on to Krug and Charles Heidsieck.

The original focus in the early days was on brandy but it wasn’t long before sparkling wines took over. Now, Blue Pyrenees has an excellent reputation for premium, sparkling wines and other wines such as cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, merlot, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc.

Blue Pyrenees is now 100% Australian owned and has been under the direction of winemaker Andrew Koerner since 2004. This has heralded a new phase in quality winemaking for Blue Pyrenees which has been confirmed with the winning of many awards including an award for the newly released 2008 Blue Pyrenees Cabernet Sauvignon at the Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show in February. Also at the inaugural Winewise Championships, the Blue Pyrenees Sparkling Shiraz 2004 was awarded the first “Champion Sparkling Shiraz”

“One of our aims when I joined Blue Pyrenees in 2004 was to improve wine standards right across the range and I think these results prove we have done just that. Winning a sparkling and still wine trophy in a matter of weeks is good confirmation that we are doing great things at Blue Pyrenees,” says Andrew.

We have a selection of Blue Pyrenees Wines that you can buy online at great prices.
