Young Barossa Winemakers Shine
By Chris • Sep 26th, 2011 • Category: Wine RegionsYoung Barossa winemakers are doing well when it comes to their talents being recognised. Last year Barossa-based winemaker Anna Pooley won the Wine Society’s 2011 Young Winemaker of the Year Award. This year, 3 Barossa winemakers are in the final ten; Hentley Farm’s Andrew Quin, Orlando’s Dan Swincer and Troy Kalleske from the Kalleske family winery.
Troy Kalleske makes organic wine and believes that this gives an advantage.
“I’d like to think so, I do know that generally people comment on the fruit harmony of our wines and that is definitely part of the organics and the way we make our wines with natural ferments and tannins,” he said.
