The Barossa wine region is made up of two distinct regions, the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. The two are divided by the Barossa Ranges. The entire Barossa region is famous for Shiraz wine, and the cooler climate Eden Valley is renowned for world class Riesling. These wine varieties aren't the only specialties of the Barossa. The region is also known for excellent Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon in red wine varieties, and Semillon and Chardonnay in white wine varieties.
